GST Autoplay Easel 15 Minute Autorun
Use the GST Autoplay Easel to create an autorun for your CD in 15
minutes or less.
This exercise
is intended to take you through the creation of an autorun program quickly and completely.
Note: Pay close attention to the bold words. You need to
perform an action on each of them.
 | Click on the Start menu - then Programs\GSTechnologies\
GST Autorun Easel
|
You should have the GST Autoplay Easel up and it should look like this:

 | Click on Red Button - You will
see the Wizard introduction screen - Click Next - You will be on the
Select Background panel - Choose the Green-Blue background.
|
Your screen should look like this:

 | Click on Next - You will be on the Select
Layout panel, do the following - Choose Centered Selections -
Heading 1, Large, Bold - Heading 2, Medium, Bold, Italic - Selections,
Medium, Italic - All Text, Arial. Dont't check the Menu Size checkbox.
|
Your screen should look like this:

 | Click on Next - You will be on the Enter Selection Text
and Actions panel - Enter the text as shown - then click on the
Set Action Here icon for the first line
|

 | Now you will set the action for the first line which is "Read about the Checkbook
Organizer". Type \docs\readme.txt. This is assuming that you will have a docs
sub-directory on the CD one up from the root directory and that the readme.txt file is
located there. |

 | Now you will set the action for the second line which is "Browse this
CD". Type explorer in Path and Programs and "\" in Parameters. This
will bring up the Windows Explorer in the root folder of the CD. |

 | Now you will set the action for the Exit in left lower corner
click on the
Action icon for the exit field and type the word exit in Path and Programs
then and click the Quit after execute checkbox and then OK. That will cause the autorun to quit when exit is selected.
The only reason that we type the word exit in the Path and Programs is to
make the Exit selection highlight. If you don't have anything in Path and
Program it acts like a sub-heading sand doesn't highlight. |
 | Click on Next - You will be on the Configure Title, Color and Sounds. Enter
Acme Software for the title, click on the color palettes and choose
yellow for the normal color text and violet for the highlight text . Choose the
sounds as shown below. |

 | Click on Next, this will bring you to the final wizard
panel. Click Finish.
|
 | Now you should be back on the main panel. Click on Green
Button. This will bring up a test version of the autorun you have created
and it should look like this. You can run the mouse over the lines and the sounds and
highlights should work properly. If you don't like a color or sound, you can go back to
the wizard and change it and re-test. If you click on the "Browse this CD",
and "Exit" , the actions should work
correctly. The "read about" file is not in the
location that we said so they won't work until the CD image is complete.
|

 | Now you should be back on the main panel after clicking Exit
on the autorun panel. Now click on Yellow Button. This
will bring up the build dialog. Type in the location you want the autorun runtime files to
be copied to and you are done.
|
 | Now we would copy all of these files to the root directory of the CD
drive.
|
 | At this time we would also copy all the programs and files that we want
to invoke with the autorun to the CD.
