GST AutoFlash Builder 20 Minute Autorun
Use the GST AutoFlash Builder to create an autorun for your CD in
20 minutes or less.
For a more complete explanation of each panel and dialog please
look at the on-line tutorial. This exercise
is intended to take you through the creation of an autorun program quickly and completely.
Note: Pay close attention to the bold words. You need to
perform an action on each of them.
GST AutoFlash Builder requires some graphics in JPEG format.
This will usually be your logo or some 3D text. For this 20 minute exercise you
can right click on the following JPEGs and do a "Save Picture As" to a
folder of your choice and use them.

Note: Make sure you use JPEGs with the same background color as
the autorun background
 | Click on the Start menu - then Programs\GSTAutoFlashBuilder\GST
AutoFlash Builder

You should have the GST AutoFlash Builder up and it should look like this:

 | Click on the Step 1 Icon - You will
see the Wizard introduction screen - Click Next - You will be on the
Select Autorun Player panel - Check Black with Green Text

Your screen should look like this:

 | Click on Next - You will be on the Define
Menu Behavior
panel. The steps are numbered. Do the following for each step.

Choose Menu1 (this is the menu number that you
are defining graphics for)

Choose Top (Title Area) - (there are 2 areas that
you can define, one at the top and one on the lower left)

Choose Reverse to Normal Right to Left - (there
are 13 different effects to choose from)

Your screen should look like this:

4. Click the "Browse for JPG and build
Flash" button and browse for the aftitle.jpg - (this will select the
JPEG that you want and create the animation effect for you)

5. Click the "Test Effect" button to view
the effect you have built.
The test screen should look like this

Now repeat steps 2 through 4 for the left lower corner area |
2. Choose Bottom (Left Lower Corner) - (there are 2
areas that you can define, one at the top and one on the lower left)
3. Choose Start small then expand left to right - (there
are 13 different effects to choose from)
4. Click the "Browse for JPG and build Flash"
button and browse for the afplane.jpg - (this will select the JPEG that you
want and create the animation effect for you)
5. Click the "Test Effect" button to view the
effect you have built.
The test screen should look like this

 | Click on Next - You will be on the Enter Selection Text
and Actions panel - Enter the text as shown - then click on the
Set Action Here icon for the first line (We leave the heading blank
because we did it in animated graphics)

 | Now set the action for the first line which is "Read Me". Type
readme.htm. This is assuming that all files will be in the root folder of
the CD. (the root folder is the main area of the CD if you don't create
any folders) |

 | Now you will set the action for the line 2, 3 and 4. click on
the Set Action Here icon for each line and enter the information
in the following table

 | Now you will set the action for the Exit in left lower corner click on the
Action icon for the exit field and just click the Quit after execute checkbox and then OK.
That will cause the autorun to quit when exit is selected. |
 | Click on Next, this will bring you to the final wizard
panel. Click Finish.

 | Now you should be back on the main panel. Click on the Step 2
Icon. This will bring up a test version of the autorun you have created
and it should look like this. You can run the mouse over the selections and the sounds and
highlights should work properly. If you click on the "Browse",
"Website" and "Exit" , the actions should work
correctly. The "Read Me" and "Install" files are not in the
location that we said so they won't work until the CD image is complete.

 | Now you should be back on the main panel after clicking Exit
on the autorun panel. Now click on the Step 3 Icon. This
will bring up the build dialog. Type in the location you want the autorun runtime files to
be copied to and you are done.

 | Now we would copy all of these files to the root directory of the CD
drive.
|
 | At this time we would also copy all the programs and files that we want
to invoke with the autorun to the CD.
